All are welcome to come and take part in this wonderful Grand Canyon tradition!
Join us for the 87th annual Easter Sunrise Service on the rim of the beautiful Grand Canyon. This wonderful tradition started in 1935.
Since its inception, the Easter Sunrise Service has always been interdenominational. We will worship with members of all Christian faith traditions. Let’s rejoice together with fellow believers from around the world as we lift our voices in praise and hymns as we watch the sun rise over God’s beautiful creation the Grand Canyon.
While the early morning temperature will be cold, hearts will be warm with the joy of Jesus Christ’s resurrection. Arrive early to get the best seats. Please dress warm, the weather will be very cold, bring blankets, and warm drinks. There is no formal seating so bring your lawn chairs, then sit back and enjoy God’s beauty.
Visitors and residents with personal vehicles please park at the Visitor Center parking lot #2. There will be ample parking available. Watch for directional signs and volunteers showing you the way from the parking lot to Mather View Point where the service will be held.
Visitors and residents without personal vehicles please use the free shuttle buses. Ride the Blue Shuttle Bus route to the Visitor Center Bus Stop and then follow the directional signs and volunteers to Mather View Point.
